Travel southwest from the blast area, and you ll come to a snowy pathway sloping
downward. Follow it to the end, killing all Stone Summit in your way. Some mob groups
here will include two Dolyak Riders, and if both of them are healers/protectors, you ll either
need focused fire from your party or Backfire/Diversion to shut them down. If you re solo,
treat this like another version of the two Charr Overseers way back during the bonus from
mission #2.
After the Summit are dead, you ll find a ballista that (surprise, surprise) doesn t
seem to work. Now, retrace your steps to the ice cave where Rornak was and speak to
him. He will initiate the bonus and begin following you. Lead him back to the broken
ballista, and he will repair it; since the mobs along the way are already dead, you won t
have to worry about him dying. Once he repairs it, fire it once to blast open a gate
elsewhere in the area. Now return to the area where those ballistae were blasting away at
the mountainside earlier.

Run southeast through the ballista blast zone stop about halfway across the
bridge. If you (or your party) got hit by a ballista round, let your health refill, and then
carefully engage the unit of Stone Summit directly in front of you, ignoring the two ballista
engineers. Kill the other unit of Summit directly behind the first as well. Next, kill both
engineers, and a gate will open to allow a third unit of Summit through. If you re not doing
the bonus, skip the next paragraph.
Ignore the third group of Summit for now, and head east through the gate you
blasted open earlier. You ll face a large group of ice golems, which you should wipe out
as soon as possible with area nukes like Chaos Storm and Shatter Hex. Go all the way to
the back of this little fort and open the last chest there to find the weapon plans. Take
them back to where you left Rornak to complete the bonus goal. Return to the area with
the two ballistae you most recently disabled.
Kill the remaining group of Stone Summit; this will trigger a cutscene. When it
ends, continue southeast through a newly opened gate. Follow the valley southward until
you see a Gear Mechanism with a Gear Lever lying on the ground beside it. Pick up the
lever and then click on the mechanism to activate it. The mechanism will move, and then
the lever will fall back to the ground. You ll need to carry this same lever around to
activate a total of four mechanisms and open the Frost Gate.
To find the other mechanisms, head southwest from the first through an
exceptionally large gate. After passing through it, you ll get a message saying to activate
the mechanisms before Rurik gets overwhelmed. Don t worry much about this; there
doesn t appear to be any actual time limit for activating them. The remaining three
mechanisms are arranged in a triangle in this area. You will need to be careful, however,
because of the large number of mobs that will begin flooding this area once you kill the
last unit of Stone Summit troops. To do this safely, kill the closest group of Summit, and
only that group. Activate the mechanism they were guarding, and then activate the
unguarded mechanism. Take the lever and run past the last group of mobs to activate the
third mechanism, and then start killing them. The gates will open soon, and a large
number of dwarves will come in. Quickly find and kill the one boss mob among them to
clear the mission.
Watch the disheartening cutscene. Afterward, you ll be in Beacon s Perch, and it ll
be time to gather some more skills, via questing this time.

Skill Quests at Beacon s Perch
Talk to Master Saberlin in Beacon s Perch to receive two quests ( Hungry
Devourer and To Kryta: Refugees ). To make the quests quick, get a full team of
henchmen, keep the skill set you used for the preceding mission, and head outside to
Deldrimor Bowl.
In the Bowl, ignore Old Mac and Joe for the moment, and follow the road
westward. You ll encounter several large groups of level 8 Shiverpeak centaurs along the
way; kill them to receive quest updates for To Kryta: Refugees. There s a good chance
most of the refugees following you will die in the process, but this doesn t seem to impact
